There's a new competition that both ice dancers and pair skaters may want to take part in. It's called the
Pikes Peak Classic. The event will take place from September 27--28, 2008 at the
Colorado Springs World Arena. Pair events will include Pre-Juvenile through Senior level events, and dance events will include couples dance for Pre-Juvenile levels and above, solo dance and open ice dance events.
The event is sponsored by the Broadmoor Skating Club. Already, figure skaters from Europe, Canada, and all parts of the U.S. have expressed interest in taking part in this competition. It is hoped that eventually The Pikes Peak Classic will be as big as the Lake Placid Ice Dance Championships or the Indy Challenge for Pairs and Dance.
