The Bottom Line

Individuals have asked about where videos or DVDs can be purchased that show the beginning ice dances. They are interested in seeing beginning ice dances demonstrated. They would like to see an explanation on how to correctly do the steps in those dances and they'd like to learn how to do other ice dances. They would also like to see instruction on timing and the basic ice dance partner positions.

A DVD is now available from IceDancers.com that gives these tips. Finally, those interested in ice dancing can learn what it takes to become an ice dancer.

Guide Review - "Learn to Ice Dance" an Instructional DVD Review

"Learn to Ice Dance" is an instructional DVD that provides an easy to follow visual demonstration of the beginning ice dances.

The dances demonstrated include:

There is also a preview of the Hickory Hoedown.

The DVD shows the steps of each dance in slow motion and with narration. Basic partner holds are explained. Timing is also explained. The layout of each dance pattern on the ice is also given.

After all this is done, the demonstrators, Terri Levine and Mike Ricigliano, do the dance for the viewer. It is hoped that the joy of ice dancing can be passed onto the viewer through the demonstration of each ice dance.

"Learn to Ice Dance" cannot take the place of professional instruction by a qualified ice dance coach, but can compliment and help any skater interested in learning the fundamentals of ice dancing.
